The Merchant's Maiden is the vessel captained by Eleanor Marghissa, crewed by sailors bound by years of shared trials and known to execute the captain's orders with swift, precise discipline.
During the events of the Rebirth Campaign, the Merchant's Maiden was docked in Kalzendil when Captain Marghissa, following the failure of her mission at the city's warehouse, was compelled to carry the fellowship northward toward Rudiana. The voyage lasted several days, cutting a steady wake through the waters, during which the heroes passed their time in various ways: Theodor winning the favor of the sailors through games of chance and shared spirits; Ribby discovering a peculiar compass-plant in the ship's nooks whose leaves unfailingly bowed toward the North; and Will dedicating his strength to the ship's labor, moving heavy crates with tireless patience.
It was during this journey that Olin Keeves, a mysterious figure who had gone largely unnoticed throughout the voyage, revealed himself beneath the decks to share intelligence on the fellowship and the secrets surrounding Will's past.
The Merchant's Maiden made her final voyage under Marghissa's command on this journey. Upon landfall at the northern docks, the captain revealed that the ship would have to be scuttled or sold to protect her crew, who would vanish and begin anew.
